Cartersville Dining, Nightlife, and Music

Cartersville’s restaurants offer a wide variety of distinctive cuisines. Two restaurants in Cartersville received the People's Choice Awards in 2008; D. Morgan’s and the Appalachian Grill, both of which are located in downtown Cartersville. D. Morgan's at 28 W. Main Street, (770) 383-3535, occupies an historic building that was constructed in the late 19th century and it features New American cuisine with seemingly intricate, yet beguilingly simple dishes created by Chef Derek Morgan. The Appalachian Grill at 14 E. Church Street, (770) 607-5357, serves signature appetizers such as crab cakes and shrimp bisque, scrumptious seafood dishes, prime rib, filet mignon, and thick cut grilled pork chops.

Two good Italian restaurants in Cartersville are Antonino's Italian Grotto, 28 Museum Drive, (770) 387-9664, and Armando's Italian Restaurant, 3 S Dixie Avenue, (770) 382-1000. Both serve homemade authentic Italian dishes with freshly baked Italian breads, pastas and antipastos, soups, salads, and homemade desserts.

A wonderful place to relax and enjoy a cup of tea with a slice of quiche, some homemade soup, crepes, a fresh salad or a sandwich is Church Street Tea Garden, 119 W. Church Street, (678) 721-5025. For breakfast, lunch and a banquet of flavorful foods to select from, Uncle Gus' Flavortown Diner at 461 Old Mill Place, (770) 607-4717, specializes in fresh biscuits, omelettes, home fried hash brown potatoes, grits, waffles, sausages and country ham for breakfast, and country-fried steak, roast chicken with stuffing, chopped steak, fried chicken and grilled steaks for lunch. Families also enjoy the casual style of Flavor at 19 S Public Square, (770) 606-0919, where meals are served cafeteria style.

Nightlife, entertainment and music

One of the most popular nighttime social activities in Cartersville is gathering at one of several local sports bars for cold beers, hot wings and whatever sports games happen to be showing on the TV screens. M'Vorneen's Irish Pub & Club 104 at 110 S. Museum Drive in downtown Cartersville serves more than 100 varieties of beer, wine and specialty drinks in the pub, and Club 104 serves sushi and tapas with live music each weekend.
