September 19-20, 2009
Come on over to the beautiful grounds of Cartersville’s Rose Lawn Museum for the 34th annual Arts Festival. Sponsored by Bartow County Government and the Cartersville Medical Center, the festival promises $1,000 in juried artist awards. In addition to Best in Show, First, Second and Third prizes will be given for both Fine Arts and Heritage Crafts.

Categories typically include Painting, Sculpture, Drawing, Knives/Blacksmith, Jewelry, Candles, Pottery, Furniture, Fiber, Toys, Glass and Photography. A variety of food concessions will be available for visitors to enjoy.
Tours of the Victorian house museum – once home to evangelist Sam Porter Jones, but also containing writings and memorabilia of Rebecca Latimer Felton, who was the first woman to serve in the U.S. Senate – will be offered for $4. The local chapter of the American Association of University Women also will host its annual book sale.
Admission to the festival is free. Show hours will be Saturday, September 19, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Sunday, September 20, from 12:00 to 5:00 p.m. Note there is no rain date.
